The Sandbox Children’s Museum is proud to be a premiere destination for early childhood, hands-on play, and learning in the Hilton Head, Bluffton, and surrounding areas. The museum was founded in 2005 with the primary goal of educating young children through age-appropriate, interactive activities and exhibits that enable children to play freely while exploring their creativity and discovering the world around them.

What to expect
The Sandbox Children’s Museum is proud to be a premiere destination for early childhood, hands-on play, and learning in the Hilton Head, Bluffton, and surrounding areas. The museum was founded in 2005 with the primary goal of educating young children through age-appropriate, interactive activities and exhibits that enable children to play freely while exploring their creativity and discovering the world around them.
Our exhibits are carefully designed to support and encourage the whole development of the child, through play and learning. This includes the child’s Emotional and Social Development (ES), Health and Physical Development (HP), Language Development and Communication (LC), Mathematical Thinking and Expression (ME), Cognitive Development (CD).
The Sandbox is pleased to offer a variety of programs for children ages 1 year through age 12. Programs are offered weekly, monthly and throughout the year. Museum Programs – STEAM time, Discover, Imagine Grow (D.I.G.) and Camps are a few ways that we provide a structured environment that encourages learning through play.
