Traviamo ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Platform. By using Traviamo, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, such as:

• Account Data: Name, email, phone number, and password.
• Family Profile: Children's grade levels, subjects of interest, and learning preferences.
• Location Data: City, state, and optional GPS coordinates for trip matching.
• Booking Data: Trip reservations, payments, and trip records. ESA expense reports are coming soon.
• Communications: Messages sent through Platform chat and support inquiries.
• Content: Reviews, field notes, photos, and ratings you submit.

We also collect technical data automatically, including IP address, browser type, device information, and usage patterns via cookies and analytics tools.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Match your family or cohort with relevant field trips and venues.
• Process bookings and payments, and keep trip records. ESA expense reports are coming soon.
• Communicate trip reminders, updates, and Platform news.
• Improve our recommendation algorithms and user experience.
• Ensure Platform security and prevent fraud.
• Comply with legal obligations.

4. Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

• Venue Partners: Booking details, headcount, and emergency contact information necessary to fulfill your reservation.
• Service Providers: Payment processors, cloud hosting, email delivery, and analytics vendors. We limit access to personal information to people who need it to run Traviamo.
• Cohort Members: If you join a cohort, your name and trip attendance may be visible to other members per cohort settings.
• Legal Authorities: When required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights and safety.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. ESA expense reports are coming soon. Financial records may be retained for up to 7 years per tax and accounting requirements. You may request deletion at any time via your Account settings or by contacting support.

6. Security

We use encryption in transit (TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls. We limit access to personal information to people who need it to run Traviamo. No system is 100% secure, and we encourage users to use strong, unique passwords and enable two-factor authentication when available.

7. Children's Privacy

Traviamo is designed for families with children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Children's profiles are managed by the parent or legal guardian account holder. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

8. Children's Information

Details about children (first name, birth month or age, grade, interests, how they learn best, and optional visit needs such as a quiet space) are entered by the parent or guardian, never by the child. We use this information only to personalize trip suggestions for your family. We never sell it. Venues never receive children's names or individual details; they only ever receive aggregated counts, such as the number of children and grades attending. We do not ask for medical conditions or diagnoses. You can edit or delete your children's information at any time from Account and Children in your family dashboard.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. You may also object to certain processing or withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@traviamo.org.
